There is a halo around the moon That only I can see A confluence Of atmospheric ice, Reflection, refraction, And me Standing In just the right spot To see this prismatic ring That's as personal as a rainbow Casting colors Only for my eyes to perceive Above you, There may be a halo Of your own. But it will not be the same as mine. Some will wave it off As merely a coincidence With crystals and light Lining up just right And hardly remarkable. I will take happenstance beauty As miraculous and necessary Wherever I can find it We all need moments To find the quiet joy Of a high-altitude halo We can call our own For in the beautiful schemes Of Grand Things Sometimes soft light Filters through diamond dust A beacon For stillness And peace.
